Once loaded, the FACETCURVE command can be used to configure the application settings and to run the faceting operation on a particular curve. When run, the current application settings are displayed, along with a prompt allowing the user to facet a curve or to modify the current settings or mode of operation: Current mode: By number of segments, number=5 Current settings: Create polyline=No, Transfer entity properties=No,Erase original curve=No Select curve or [Mode/Settings]: Selecting "Mode" will allow the current mode of operation to be modified or changed: Current mode: By number of segments, number=5 Select mode [NumberOfSegments/MaximumSegmentLength/FixedSegmentLength] : Selecting "NumberOfSegments" will set the mode to use a fixed number of segments of potentially varying length. The number of segments is specified in response to the subsequent prompt: Enter number of segments : Selecting "MaximumSegmentLength" will set the mode to use the smallest number of segments such that no single segment exceeds the maximum segment length. The maximum length is specified in response to the subsequent prompt: Enter maximum segment length <100.0000>: Selecting "FixedSegmentLength" will set the mode to use a fixed segment length wherever possible (the typical exception being the last segment of the curve, which may be shorter). The fixed length is specified in response to the subsequent prompt: Enter maximum segment length <10.0000>: After the mode is set, the user will be back at the prompt to facet a curve, change the mode or modify the settings: Select curve or [Mode/Settings]: Selecting "Settings" will allow the current application settings to be changed: Current settings: Create polyline=No, Transfer entity properties=No,Erase original curve=No Setting to change [CreatePolyline/TransferProperties/EraseOriginal/Exit] : Selecting "CreatePolyline" allows the user to choose whether to create a polyline in cases where the faceting operation creates more than one segment: Create a polyline rather than lines for multi-segment results [Yes/No] : Selecting "TransferProperties" allows the user to choose whether the original curve's entity properties (color, layer, linetype, etc.) should also be applied to the newly created lines/polyline: Transfer entity properties (layer, linetype, etc.) from the original curve [Yes/No] : Selecting "EraseOriginal" allows the user to control whether the original curve is erased once the faceting operation completes: Erase original curve [Yes/No] : Selecting "Exit" returns the user to the main prompt: Select curve or [Mode/Settings]: If a curve is selected it is faceted according to the current mode and application settings.

Installation/Désinstallation
The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.
You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in.
To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

This plug-in was written by Kean Walmsley, inspired by code provided by COINS, an ADN member. It became a Plugin of the Month on Autodesk Labs. ADN Plugins of the Month are provided with full source code that has been installed with this plug-in.
