Area Object Link (AOL) is an AutoLISP app that implements a GUI to link Circles, Ellipses, Hatches, Plines or Regions' Area/Perimeter value to an Attribute that can be used to generate a Summary Table

Type AOL/POL/APL or select from Autodesk® AutoCAD® Ribbon > Add-ins > Area Object Link panel to start one of these commands. The first time AOL or Area Object Link / POL or Perimeter Object Link / APL or Area Perimeter Link is executed, a graphic user interface (GUI) will appear displaying the current AOL/POL/APL Commands & Options:


AOL/POL/APL Commands:
- Link already drawn Circles, Ellipses, Hatches, Plines, or Regions' Area/Perimeter value using Fields to an already placed Attribute, MText, or Text.
- Insert a pre-built AOL/POL/APL Block with Attributes & then link using Fields to already drawn Circles, Ellipses, Hatches, Plines, or Regions' rea/Perimeter.
- Draw using the Pline command a closed boundary shape and then insert the AOL/POL/APL Block linking the Attribute to the Area/Perimeter value.
- Select already drawn supported objects like closed Plines and then automatically insert the AOL/POL/APL Block at the center of each selected shape linking the Attributes to the area/Perimeter value.
- Show Circles, Ellipses, Hatches, Plines, or Regions highlighted & shaded with Areas/Perimeters linked using Fields to selected Attribute, MText, or Text.
- Update Fields in Attributes, MText, Text & Block Attributes with Area/Perimeter value to match with the current AOL/POL/APL Option settings.


AOL/POL/APL Options:
- Choose Imperial or Metric as your drawing unit standard.
- Select an Insertion Scale factor to bring in the pre-built AOL/POL/APL Block Attribute.
- Use the horizontal slide bar or enter a specific Rotation angle to insert the pre-built AOL/POL/APL Block Attribute.
- The Area/Perimeter can be measured using a number of standard conversion Factors in both Imperial or Metric systems including an option to enter a Custom Factor.
- Select the option to include a prefix/Suffix to the Area/Perimeter value.
- Set a decimal Precision using a Dot or Comma or Round the calculated Area/Perimeter value Up or Down.
After the first time, the following occurrences of running AOL/POL/APL will automatically take on the previously selected Command & Option settings bypassing the GUI.

Type AOLSET/POLSET/APLSET or select from AutoCAD's Ribbon > Add-ins > Area Object Link panel to bring the Command & Option settings GUI up again to make additional changes.

TypeAOT or select from AutoCAD's Ribbon > Add-ins > Area Object Link panel to start the command. The first time AOT or Area Object Table is executed, a graphic user interface (GUI) will appear to generate a Summary Table displaying the following Options:
- Select one of the following to generate the Summary Table. AOL-Label [AOL Module]; 2. POL-Label [POL Module]; 3. APL-Label [APL Module]
- Customize the Summary’s: 1. Table Heading; 2. Column Headings
- Create an Excel file
- Total up the values
After the first time, the following occurrences of running AOT will automatically take on the previously selected Options bypassing the GUI.

Type AOTSET or select from AutoCAD's Ribbon > Add-ins > Area Object Link panel to bring the Options GUI up again to make additional changes.

Type ACL or select from AutoCAD's Ribbon > Add-ins > Area Object Link panel to start the command. The ACL or Attribute Change Layer command changes selected Blocks along with the Attributes’ layer to a selected target object layer.

Type AOLINF or select from AutoCAD's Ribbon > Add-ins > Area Object Link panel to start the command. The AOLINF or Attribute Object Link Information command brings up a graphic user interface (GUI) offering the following: 1. View Version History; 2. Show or Hide app Toolbar; 3. Show product information.

AOL

AOLSET command brings up the AOL Settings window to make changes to the command's default settings.

POL

POL command Links selected Circles, Pline Ellipses, closed Plines or Regions' Perimeter value as a Field to a selected Block Attribute, MText or Text object.

POLSET

POLSET command brings up the POL Settings window to make changes to the command's default settings.

APL

APL command Links selected Circles, Pline Ellipses, closed Plines or Regions' Area/Perimeter value as a Field to a selected Block Attribute, MText or Text object.

APLSET

APLSET command brings up the APL Settings window to make changes to the command's default settings.

AOT

AOT command generates a Summary Table from the AOL/POL/APL Block Attribute values.

AOTSET

AOTSET command brings up the AOT Settings window to make changes to the command's default settings.

ACL

ACL command changes selected Block along with the Attributes layer to a selected target layer.

AOLINF

AOLINF command opens the app’s information window showing Version History, option to Show/Hide app Toolbar and product information.

Instalowanie/odinstalowanie

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

Znane problemy

1.     The end user should leave the Autodesk® AutoCAD® Fieldeval system variable to 31 so that the Area/Perimeter saved as a Field in the Block Attribute or Text will automatically update.

2.     As stated in AutoCAD's help file on Fieldeval, one of the following commands will need to be executed for the Area/Perimeter value to automatically update: Open, Save, Plot, eTransmit, and Regen.

3.     Table totals are dependent on the selected precision of the resultant Area/Perimeter values. The final calculations vary depending on number of decimal places selected.

Added the following features: LINK Command supports multiple & additional object selections: Circles, Ellipses and Regions. Attribute, Text or MText will be highlighted when selected for linking. If there are already linked objects, those will be pre-selected. INSERT Command added support for the rotation angle. AOL Block can be seen at the time of placement. SHOW Command now displays linked objects highlighted & shaded. Added new UPDATE Command to update Attribute, Text or MText with Field links to match the current selected AOL settings.
