LevelSet

LevelSet

Win32 and 64, English

Richard Stima
LevelSet measures the vertical distance from a defined origin point and draws level (elevation) marker with measured value.

General Usage Instructions

Create new LevelSet

To create a new LevelSet run command RLCREATE or RL. Dialog window has similar settings as native Autodesk® AutoCAD® dimension style manager, they are self-explanatory therefore below are just a few explanations:

  • General tab -> Relative Base level: This value is added to vertical measurement from base point to the Level.

  • Lines and Symbols tab -> Symbol -> Default(Triangle): Set the default symbol for Level (block name _RLTRIA)

  • Lines and Symbols tab -> Symbol -> User Symbol: Good practice to create user symbol is to draw all components on layer 0, color ByBlock in scale 1:1

  • Lines and Symbols tab -> Symbol Orientation -> Horizontally mirrored: If you use symmetrical symbol for example default triangle you won'tsee any graphical change.

  • Lines and Symbols tab -> Symbol Orientation -> Rotate with Leader: To enable this option Leader must be checked on Leader tab.

  • Text tab -> Correction for TTF font: If LevelSet is not aligned with WCS and you use True Type Font (TTF) all texts will be displayed as bold. By checking this option you can eliminate this problem. Additionally to this option is command RLTTF which turns On or Off globally for current AutoCAD session correction of TTF font for LevelSets. In Autodesk® AutoCAD® 2015 this problem of TTF is fixed therefore you do not need to use this option.

For more information about LevelSet see provided PDF help file. After installation of this app you can find it here:

%appdata%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\Levelset.bundle\Contents\LevelSet-Help.pdf

Modification of LevelSet

  • Each Level has three gripping points for: Level position, Level line length and Level text position.
  • When you select LevelSet modification commands are displayed in context menu.
  • You can find modification command on Plug-ins -> LevelSet ribbon tab.

RLMATCHPROP or RLMA

Applies the properties of a selected LevelSet to other LevelSet(s). AutoCAD properties such as layer or color are not matched

RLMOVELEVEL or RLM

Moves base point of the Level. (Also available by using grip point)

RLTOGGLEGRIP or RLG

Enables or disables grip edit points. This option is turn ON by default

RLLEVELOVERRIDE or RLO

Overrides some properties of individual Level. Following properties can be override: Text contents, Text X-offset, Text Y-offset, Symbol orientation, Leader length. Text contents can be manually formatted.

RLMOVETEXT or RLT

Moves the Level text. (Also available by using grip point)

RLTOGGLESYMBOLHORIZONTAL or RLSH

Changes the horizontal orientation of Level symbol (along vertical axis) This command is disabled if symbol orientation is set to Rotate with Leader

RLINSERTLEVEL or RLI

Inserts new Level into LevelSet

RLDELETELEVEL or RLD

Deletes Level in LevelSet

RLTOGGLESYMBOLVERTICAL or RLSV

Changes the vertical orientation of Level symbol (along horizontal axis) This command is enabled if symbol orientation is set to Fixed

RLTTF

Enables or disables correction of True Type Font (TTF) display issue for current AutoCAD session. This option is turn OFF by default. Recommended is to turn ON this option prior the printing and turn it OFF afterwards. You have to turn on this option also in individual LevelSet properties window. See Text (tab) -> Correction for TTF font (NOTE: Apparently with Autodesk® AutoCAD® 2015 the problem with TTF font display is fixed therefore this command is not needed for Autodesk® AutoCAD® 2015

RLCREATE or RL

Creates a new LevelSet

RLMATCHOVERRIDE or RLMO

Applies the override properties of a selected Level to other Level(s).

RLTEXTHOME or RLH

Moves Level text to original position as it is set in LevelSet properties

RLINSERTLEVELATVALUE or RLV

Inserts new Level into LevelSet at known value

RLMIRROR

Mirrors the LevelSet along vertical axis started from the LevelSet base point. (Note: AutoCAD commands MIRROR and SCALE are disabled for the LevelSet but you can change Scale X, Y, Z in AutoCAD standard Properties window. However this scale change will disable modification commands for LevelSet)

RLMOVEBASEPOINT or RLB

Re-locates the base point of the LevelSet. After re-location of the base point all Levels will be re-calculated

RLLEVELLENGTH or RLL

Changes the length of Level line. (Also available by using grip point)
