In addition to the many commands, this add-on also provides an Auto-Layer feature that places Dimensions, Text, and Leaders automatically on the appropriate layer for each. This works for standard AutoCAD dimensioning commands – it does not require the use of custom commands.

The layer used for each is controlled by whatever Layer Key Style you are currently using, using layer key tags for those objects. Any layer key overrides in effect will be applied.

In addition, KCS provides the ability to include the current dimscale and an optional drawing type prefix to these layers. This can be a great help if you place dimensions and text in model space and want to have separate layers for different scales and drawing types in the same drawing. 

All this is controlled in the KCS Options dialog. The KCS Options dialog also contains the settings for the five KCS Text Macros. These macros will automatically provide the kind of text you wish to place, at the desired size, and on the desired layer, which will also include any dimscale and prefix (if set – as described above). Reference point options are also included in the ribbon, including Reference point, Mid of two points, Fractional distance between two points, and hold X, Y, or Z. These may be employed during any command whenever a point is being requested.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.

You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, go to Control Panel and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
