This app allows for loading/unloading references in selected drawing files before fully opening the file.
When working with many references or large references, this app will come in handy allowing the user to select the desired drawing they wish to open, select reload or unload checkboxes, check the desired references to be modified, then click Save and Open.
The app opens the selected drawing database, modifies the selected references, saves the drawing database, and then opens the file for use. The full version has support for unlimited references and JPG, SID, TIF, DWF, PDF, and DGN files.

This application was not able to work on almost any drawing I tried to use it on. It may work for you however. It could only ever find one xref out of the ~5 on each drawing. Always came back with "file not found". The cause of this is documented in the help... and its pretty silly that the developer was not able to implement some logic to handle mismatch between xref name and file path name; However Im sure there is a good reason for this. The "Repair Xref Name" plugin (made by different developer) could maybe be used to resolve this, however that plugin stopped recieving support after 2021.
This plugin might work for you; and If it does you will find value in it. But if you are working on a job where the file names ever changed, none of the xrefs will resolve for you and you will be unable to interact with them in the plugin.

Regarding the issue and comments... if I recall correctly from memory, the API searches the block names in the file and if there were issues in the block names in which it could not map, it flagged them as an issue and yes, could not unload them. The whole purpose of this tool is to unload XREFs before opening the file (specifically very large XREFs to help open files faster). When I developed this, my full time job was a CAD Manager at a large company and was trying to improve some workflows, our standards were if files changed, users should update the XREF names as well - it was standard good AutoCAD practice to do so. Why Autodesk doesn't have AutoCAD do this automatically, I don't know. I'm sorry it did not work for you. If you'd like a refund, please reach out to our support email. Happy to do so.
We had a job that some drawings had over 100 XREFs. This app allowed me to easily open a drawing without loading all of the XREFs so that I could make my simple edits and move along to the next drawing. Woth every penny for the full version. Thanks ~Greg
