Description
Post the created contours with your default post processor. Afterwards, open the file with DragKnife to convert it into a specialized g-code for drag knives. After inspecting the outputted g-code, you are ready to use a drag knife on your CNC. For inspection, we recommend NC Viewer which can be also downloaded here in the app store.
Supported post processors:
- Biemmepi
- CNC Router Parts
- Eding CNC

- Grbl

Similar to Patrick's review below, I was excited to upgrade my dragnife G-Code with Peter's add on. But after following all of his instruciton to the letter (great instrucitons) I kept running into the same error, "could not convert string to float." I think this could be becasue I work primarly in inches and not mm. So I converted my file and whole workspece to mm, but I still get the same error. I reached out to Patrick weeks ago - he sends you an email asking you to do to before posting a review - and I have not heard a response. As for as I know, this software no longer works becasue is has never worked for me.
I was confident going into this reading all these great reviews. However after downloading this I tried several of the supported posts and none of them work quite right on my HAAS machine for various reasons. Tried reaching out to Peter for post support but haven't heard back.
This worked great with my old machine. Is it possible to get this to work with .pim file extension as thats what the control box uses?
So, the plugin itself is amazing, the only problem is the memory/lock/hold on the file it's processing is not released so you can't post the file again without restarting Fusion.
It should be a simple fix...
Got super fast response from Peter. He helped me to get the AddIn running even for a Postprocessor not natively supported by his Plugin. Great Support, thanks a lot
Before I couldn't easily get clean cuts with a drag knife out of Fusion 360. And I love Fusion 360 and didn't want to purchase a full software solution for this one small aspect. The Donek tools utility didn't always work well and was a lot of manual intervention.
Thank goodness for this utility! Save yourself the hassle and just buy this add-in. It takes 10 minutes to learn how to use it and where to find it.
Peter has been incredible helping me get this working. I'm using a post processor that wasn't supported. Peter was lightning quick in responding, and went above and beyond to get this awesome add-in working for my particular machine and post processor. Worth the money at 10x the price! Great job!
ive now had a chance to use this add on quite a bit. It works great and handles my design geometry very well.
Good point! I am willing to evaluate the needs for that feature, but i agree that this will bring the user more time saving, productivity and repeatable results. Thank you!
I had searching a long period of time to find a tool that brings me a full trailing knife workflow. With this add-on i can create knife pathes from fusion360 sketches or import a .dxf or .svg file. AND!!! It can handle arc's, no need to convert them into curves anymore! All together a really handy tool.
