3DConverter is a standalone tool for Windows. It allows 3D files to be converted from Stl/Obj/3ds to Obj/Xaml.
3D model files from Autodesk® Inventor®, Autodesk® Revit® & Autodesk® AutoCAD® can be saved as .STL files, those from Autodesk® 3ds Max® can be saved as .3ds files. Then models from these major Autodesk® 3D packages can be converted to .Obj/.Xaml format, which then is used as 3D model/object content/resources in Rich Media Windows application developed with WPF, or similar technologies.
Revit users will need the "STL Exporter for Revit" add-in, which is available for free from Autodesk App Store, to export their Revit models to.STL format before using our 3DConverter.
Thus this tool will potentially open a great market/user base for 3D models generated from major 3D packages.
NOTE: This is a Stand Alone app and is not a standard App Store Installer.
For anyone who is interested, I took a punt on this and it works. I’m able to convert an STL file from Fusiion 360, and generate XAML which will render correctly in a .net WPF form. Thanks for a great app!
