With Lumion LiveSync for Autodesk Revit, you can set up a simultaneous, real-time connection between your 3D model in Revit and Lumion. The LiveSync plugin is free, and installation and usage are refreshingly simple. 

Simply download and install the LiveSync plugin from the Autodesk App Store (instructions below), and go to your Add-ins tab. Click on Lumion LiveSync to open the app. Open a project in Lumion and make sure you are in a 3D view in Revit.  

Click on the Play button to start the live, real-time synchronization. Now, you can change the model’s shape in Revit to test a modified design, and you’ll instantly see the model updated in Lumion with accurate lighting and shadow, surrounding contexts such as urban neighborhoods or rural settings, and beautiful, realistic materials.  

Lumion LiveSync for Revit also includes:

• Real-time model synchronization between Revit and Lumion
• Camera synchronization between Revit and Lumion
• The ability to add and save Lumion’s beautiful materials to your LiveSync project
• Real-time materials synchronization and visualization
• Automatic model importing into Lumion (no need to separately import a model)
• Collada (*.dae) files exporter

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

Lumion LiveSync for Revit will only work with Revit 2015 - 2025 and Lumion 8.3 - 2024+. If your programs meet this compatibility requirement, then the free LiveSync plugin is easy to install. 

To download the LiveSync installer, go to LiveSync for the Revit page on the Autodesk App Store. Click the download button to get the installer. The installer may start automatically, but if it doesn’t, then simply double-click on the installer (.exe file) to begin. 

You may need to restart your Autodesk Revit program to activate the LiveSync app/plug-in.
