Auto-Dimension MEP
Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
1. Launch the Plugin:
- Open your Autodesk® Revit® project and navigate to the MLABS tab in the ribbon to access the plugin's features.
2. Select MEP Elements:
- Choose the MEP elements you want to dimension, such as pipes, ducts, cable trays, or conduits. Ensure the elements are visible in the current view.
3. Automatically Retrieve Dimensions:
- The plugin will automatically gather data such as pipe diameters and lengths. This information is used to create accurate dimensions.
4. Insert dimensions by objects:
- For all elements in the current view: Click on the Filter MEP button to add dimensions to the elements in the current view.
- For Selected Elements: Click the By Selection button to add dimensions to the selected elements in the current view.
- Between Connectors: Use the Add Dimension Between Connectors feature to dimension the space between connected elements, which is useful for detailed MEP layouts.
5. Add Dimensions to 3D Views:
- Open a 3D view of your project.
- Use the Filter MEP feature to add dimensions directly in 3D, enhancing spatial understanding of your MEP setup.
6. Adding Tags:
- When adding tags, the app automatically locks the current view.
- A new view will be created for tagging to prevent alterations to the original view, ensuring a clean and controlled tagging process.
7. MEP Fabrication Specifics:
- For MEP Fabrication users, only the Add Dimension Between Connectors feature is available. Use this to accurately place dimensions between fabrication connectors.
8. Finalize and Review:
- Review the inserted dimensions and tags to ensure accuracy.
- Make any necessary adjustments directly in Revit for a polished final result.
Commands
Installation/Uninstallation
The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.
To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system
