Point Cloud Importer Exporter

Import Point Cloud
- Press the "Import Point Cloud" button to select the input scan file.
- Press "+" to select the file. Users can select multiple files or add them one by one.
- Enable the silent mode if you want to hide the progress bar.
- Select the positioning to import the point cloud at the selected position.
- Select the subsampling option to "Yes" if the user wants to subsample the point cloud data.
- If the user selected the subsampling option to "Yes" -> then insert the interpoint spacing distance in the range of 1 to 100 millimeters.
- If user selected multiple input files (two or more) then using merge point clouds option user can combine all selected scan files in a signle Recap project file(.rcp).
- If the input file is a txt/pts/xyz file then on the user interface select the proper column header and select point separator, The User can skip a number of lines and user can ignore colors/Normal's/Intensity by selecting "Ignore" option on column header dropdown.
- Press the "Import" button to start the process.
- Wait till complete the import process and switch to 3D view to see the linked scan.
Export Point Cloud
- Press the "Export Point Cloud" button.
- Select multiple files by checking the respective checkboxes.
- Choose the desired file extension for the exported point cloud.
- Enable the "Merge Selected Files" option to combine all point cloud scans into a single file.
- Press the "Export" button to start the process.
- Wait for the export process to complete.
Commands
Installation/Uninstallation
The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.
To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
