Simply pick the old Leader then the associated text and a new Mleader is created based on location and layer of old Leader and text.
The old leader and Mtext are deleted. The AutoLISP routine is 'open source' so you can modify as you see fit, if necessary.

Added support to AutoCAD® 2023 (No change in version number).
Please add support to 2024.
You must restart ACAD after install, otherwise you will get an error and it will not work.
Other than that, the only other thing would be to allow for better placement of text as noted in previous comments. But it saves a ton of time.

I did indeed work. Would be nice if the text didn't move, you could click a third time to set the text location, or if you select text first you place a leader instead with the second click. But, even without any of that, it saved a whole lot of time.

Default leader style is based on selected working style. Great App!
and it works like a charm. Bringing R14 leaders up to date.
so handy when re visiting old dwg's.
